Brevard County, Florida · tax lab

Change the taxes. See what happens.

Move a county property tax up or down — the county’s general fund, the sheriff’s patrol tax, the fire tax, or the schools — and see what it does to a household’s bill, to the budget, and to what that money could pay for or would have to give up. Every rate and tax base comes from a cited document. Updated 2026-10-06.

Florida taxes property on its assessed value, in mills: $1 for every $1,000. Use the assessed value on your TRIM notice or bcpao.us. The homestead box takes off $51,411 for county taxes and $25,000 for school taxes (2026). Rates are the final 2025 rates. Smaller taxes on the bill (library, mosquito control, recreation, road and water districts) stay as they are; a home inside a city pays the city’s tax instead of the sheriff’s patrol tax.
